Opportunity as a good chance to give a good starting point for Indonesian students about global intercultural communication and an opportunity travelling and exploring life in  abroad through a-10-days summer camp program in Taiwan. Targeting students of Senior High School from Indonesia, this program also aims to introduce and develop Mandarin language skills as part of their preparation to face global competition.. Further, this program will also provide information about how to prepare study in Taiwan, introduction to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) as one of top tier university in Taiwan, and  NCKU student’s life experiences.

After successfully holding the same event in 2010, this year Indonesian Student Union in Tainan (PPI Tainan) again held the same event which was called Indonesian Culture Days 2011 that aimed to introduce the unique and multiethnic culture of Indonesia. The event included the introduction of Indonesian cuisines and the presentation of the process of making the traditional Indonesian fabrics (Batik) and finally this event closed by the performances in the cultural night.

The event was held two times, first at November 13th 2011 which introducing the delicious Indonesian food and exhibition workshop of “Batik”. The last day took place on December 3rd 2011 at Chen Shin Hall Dept. of Nursing College of Medicine, NCKU. At that night it was performing cultural dances, angklung (traditional music instrument), songs, and traditional costumes from several provinces of Indonesia. “Journey to The Sparkling Indonesia” has been chosen as a theme for ICD 2011. Performers came from Indonesian and international student in Tainan as well.

The culural night event opened by some speeches from IETO (Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei) presented by Mr. Suhirto, then Director of International Student Affair of NCKU presented by Prof Shiann-Far Kung, and President of PPI Tainan presented by Mr. Antonius Hermawan. Besides, there was many special guests came such as FKKBWIT (Indonesian Forum for Muslims Community in Taiwan), NCKU Student Union, International Students Association of some countries, Taiwanese students, Indonesian Workers, and general spectators.

The actual number of attendees was more than 413 people. This was exceed the expectation of attendees 300 people including the VIP guests, Indonesian students, international students, local Taiwanese students, Indonesian workers and general spectators.
After the show all the audiences were enjoy the performances and give positive reaction. Moreover, the actual responses were most of the audiences and guests gave positive feedback for next event.

This event also has been broadcasted on Radio of OISAA (Overseas Indonesian Student Association Alliance) and reported for some Indonesian’s media website.
Prof Kung, Director OIA of NCKU gave the testimony while closing the event. He said “It was really fantastic performances and all the students have tried their best. That event would be can do more in next year.”

Kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk menggalang dana atas bencana alam yg menimpa Jepang. Gempa bumi dan Tsunami serta ketakutan akan radiasi dari meledakknya reaktor-rektor nuklir Jepang telah memakan puluhan ribu korban jiwa.

Teman-teman PPI Tainan sekalian,

Sampai pada hari ini, baru hanya 1 Kandidat Ketua PPI Tainan 2011, yaitu Antonius Hermawan dari NCKU.

Karena telah melewati batas waktu yang ditentukan, dengan email ini, pendaftaran calon kandidat ketua PPI Tainan 2011 resmi ditutup.

Oleh sebab itu, kami mengumumkan Jadwal Pemilu PPI Tainan 2011 adalah sebagai berikut:
I. 30 Januari – 20 Februari 2011 adalah masa kampanye calon ketua, yang harus mencantumkan:
1. Struktur kepengurusan
2. Program kerja / rancangan kegiatan
3. Motivasi mengapa ingin / pantas menjadi Ketua PPI Tainan
dengan rentang waktu minimum 2 hari, sehingga memberikan waktu bertanya bagi para anggota PPI Tainan dan tidak perlu urut
II. 19/20 Februari 2011 akan diadakan Hearing dan Tanya Jawab antara Calon Ketua dengan para anggota
Tempat dan jadwal hearing akan diumumkan kemudian
III. Pemilu PPI Tainan akan dilangsungkan antara 21-25 Februari 2011 secara online
Alamat situs dan password tiap-tiap member akan diumumkan kemudian.

Seluruh kampanye Calon Ketua PPI Tainan diharapkan memakai bahasa yang sopan dan tidak menyinggung SARA.
Media yang dipakai bebas, walaupun milis harus tetap menjadi media utama.
